Steve Bridges Does Obama and George W.

Funny stuff. Steve Bridges as Obama addresses a banquet for the Western Riverside Council of Governments. Cameo appearance by Carl Rove.

Some great lines from Bridges as Obama, "Look, I know the value of a dollar. As a kid I worked hard at Baskin Robbins, and saved up enough money for my very first teleprompter."...."When I became president, I immediately formed a solid economic team. Warren Buffet was on that team, but he quit! He quit, because Joe Biden kept asking him to sing Margaritaville!"..."My concern, is for the American people. I wish I had a crystal ball, but the company that makes crystal balls just went out of business."

In the interest of equal play and good comedy, here's Steve Bridges as the "W", addressing the Gold Stars Speakers Bureau.

Real Ford Buyer in TV Ad: I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by our government.

Built Ford tough without government assistance.

This buyer tells a mock press corps, “I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by our government. I was going to buy from a manufacturer that’s standing on their own: win, lose, or draw. That’s what America is about is taking the chance to succeed and understanding when you fail that you gotta pick yourself up and go back to work. Ford is that company for me.”

That's what America is supposed to be all about.

NPR: Obama is like Jesus

Speaking of Faith. NPR's Frank James has a faith encounter of sorts when he draws an overworked parallel between Obama and Jesus Christ. The context of this NPR sponsored moment of inspiration came after an appearance by Obama at North Carolina State in Raliegh North Carolina. While at the venue, Mr. Obama told a crowd of cheering supporters "if you love me — if you love me, you got to help me pass this ("jobs") bill. If you love me, you got to help me pass this bill." The clarion call to "pass this bill" somehow, resonated with Mr. James. It was, an epiphany. Or as Yoda would say, "An epiphany, it was."
At the rally, a supporter shouted out to the President, "I love you Barack!" "I love you back." the President said, accompanied by the exhuberant applause of the crowd. "But first, if you love me — if you love me, you got to help me pass this bill."

From that brief exchange at a political pep rally, Mr. James draws this tortured parallel to Jesus addressing Peter, one of his disciples by the Sea of Galillee after His Resurrection. Mr. James quotes a passage from the Gospel of John 21:15 in the NIV (New International Version) translation of the New Testament.

John 21: 15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”
“Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.”

Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

I don't know whether to feel embarrassment for Mr. James, for drawing such a clumsy analogy between a Chicago Pol-turned-President on the stump and the Son of the Living God, or take this as yet another sign of the end-times.

BTW, for the benefit of Mr. James, Jesus is addressing Peter in the passage you quoted to reinstate him in his position as a leader in what will become His Church, not encourage Peter to pass a "jobs" bill.

I expect that in the not-too-distant future, NPR will be telling us that Mr. Obama IS the Christ, rather than Mr. Obama is like Christ.

I have provided a video clip from the event for the benefit of ye' of little faith.

Romney Puts Spotlight on Union Thuggery

People have traditionally had a somewhat favorable opinion about Unions, that is until people are confronted with Union members and their supporters engaging in the kind of thuggish acts, threats and intimidation that were associated with Unions in the past. Here Mitt Romney ties Obama to Union hooligans.

9/11 Tribute via Herman Cain

Bloomberg on Clergy and First Responders at 9/11 Event: We just don't have room for all of them.

Members of the Clergy are not invited to some of the main events in the Big Apple's commemoration of the tenth anniversary of 9/11. No Clergy Allowed, will be the policy at 9/11 ceremonies at Ground Zero on Sunday. (Now, there's a double whammy for you) "There is this separation of Church and State in our Constitution." says hizhonor the Mayor. Actually, there is no such phrase in the entire body of the Founding Document but I digress.

The Chief Executive of Gotham City asks contentiously, "Which Religion do you want? Your Religion, My Religion, Her Religion?" (He, She, It's, Their Religion?)

Oh, on that "separation of Church and State" thing the Mayor mentioned? The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution actually says, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;. That first article of freedom means that Congress cannot mandate a State Religion. It limits the powers of the Federal Government so that you cannot be required by the Federal Government to attend a Federally sponsored Church. Conversely, it also means that Congress cannot prohibit the Free Exercise (Expression, that means Outward and Inward) Thereof.

The separation hizhonor is alluding to is a restriction placed upon Congress, not Mayor Bloomberg, not the City of New York and not the State of New York. The Mayor, if he had so chosen, would have been perfectly within his rights to venture beyond his, No Clergy Allowed Policy and hold prayer services for Christian, Jewish, Muslim believers as well as members of other faiths and traditions. At least he would have been more consistent with his earlier aggressive endorsement of plans to build a Mosque near Ground Zero.

Jay Carney: You will get specific 'Pay-Fors', on the American Jobs Act next week.

How are we going to pay for it? Yeah. Let me get back to you on that. Meanwhile, pass this bill now.

Jay Carney says Obama will tell us how he will pay for the PassThisJobsBill and the 1.5 Trillion dollar program in two weeks. There, NOW are you happy? "But why do I have to watch him again?" asks Bill O'Reilly. "I mean, I get paid for doing this" says O'Reilly, "I feel sorry for the folks, all they want to do is watch Dancing with the Stars and now they got to come back and find out how he's going to pay for this."

Obama's 'PassThisJobsBill' Remix with Commentary by Valerie Jarret and Nancy Pelosi

Here's the Cliff Notes version of the President's address to a joint session of Congress on his Jobs Bill in less than 45 seconds.

Meanwhile, White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett can't wait another minute. "The Congress should pass this plan, and they should do it right this minute." she tells MSNBC's Rachael Maddow.

Unfortunately, the "Plan" hasn't even been printed yet, so there is no physical Bill to pass along to Congress and those mean old, nay-saying, Republicans. "There's no reason that we can't move it forward, right at this minute." asserts Jarrett to a sympathetic Maddow. Hey, why sweat the details? Jarret provides a peek into the inner workings of the White House when she reveals, "The president is going to draft the legislation, make the job a little easier for Congress and and send it up there next week." "Next week!?", exclaims an incredulous Madow.

Here's something that's never been done before. Let's pass this bill, and then find out what's in it?

Newt Gingrich slams the media and brings the discussion back to the 2012 election and the GOP's united determination to defeat Obama.

Leftist Protesters Arrested While Disrupting Paul Ryan Appearance

Come gather 'round protesters wherever you roam; in search of golden protest. That's the place where sixties retreads try and recreate the havoc and anarchy that ruled and reigned over the University of San Francisco and UC Berserkly during the era of "flower power". Yes, who could ever forget the "Summer of Love"?

These protesters pop up at an event sponsored by the Rotary Club, where Paul Ryan had been invited to SPEAK, not listen to a lot of canned talking point crap coming from semi-professional agitators trying to hijack an event meant for grownups. It's stuff like this that gives Beatniks a bad name. ChickenFat, Man!
Have all the malcontents been escorted out the door? Groovy!

DoubleHoffa: Rush Limbaugh's View of Teamster's Boss of Bosses

Rush Limbaugh comments on the Union's Capo di Capi.

RUSH: So everybody’s wondering when is Obama gonna repudiate Hoffa? How do we know that Obama did not suggest to Hoffa that he say what he said? What do you mean repudiate? He went up there after Hoffa said what he said and basically praised him. I mean, what is this, when is Obama gonna repudiate Hoffa? Obama wrote it for Hoffa! Who the hell do you think is inspiring these sons-of-bitches anyway? Quote, unquote. Well, I mean if Hoffa can use the lingo, and if Obama can find nothing wrong with it, I mean what are we talking about here, folks? And Obama’s gonna be making a speech to those sons-of-bitches on Thursday night. Yeah, Cookie asked me, “Should I delete the word ‘bitches’?” No. Hoffa used it. This is your Democrat Party.

Teamster's Jimmy Hoffa on Tea Party and GOP: "President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out.."

Welcome to the new dialogue, Labor Day 2011. Jimmy Hoffa, head of the Teamster's Union had some incendiary and profane words for Republicans and the Tea Party this Labor Day. Referencing the GOP and members of the Taxed Enough Already Party, the Teamster boss told supporters gathered for a Labor Rally in Detroit, Michigan, They've got a war, they got a war with us and there's only going to be one winner. It's going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We're going to win that war. President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let's take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong.
Jimmy Hoffa delivered his remarks shortly before President Obama's scheduled speech to union supporters.
